The best choice depends on your source water's TDS (Total Dissolved Solids). If TDS is above 500ppm, an RO (Reverse Osmosis) purifier is essential. For low TDS water (municipal supply), a UV or UF purifier may be sufficient to kill bacteria without wasting water.

RO removes dissolved chemicals and heavy metals. UV uses ultraviolet rays to kill bacteria and viruses but doesn't remove chemicals. UF (Ultrafiltration) uses a physical membrane to remove suspended particles and germs without using electricity or chemicals.

Most manufacturers recommend replacing sediment and carbon filters every 6 to 12 months. The RO membrane typically lasts 2 years, depending on the quality of the input water and the volume of water purified daily.

While pure water is safe, water with TDS below 50ppm may lack essential minerals like Calcium and Magnesium. Look for purifiers with a 'TDS Controller' or 'Mineral Booster' to maintain a healthy mineral balance.

Standard RO purifiers can waste up to 3 liters of water for every 1 liter purified. However, modern 'High Recovery' purifiers reduce this waste significantly. We recommend harvesting the waste water for mopping or gardening.
